This year sees a new venture for our catalogue - we are delighted
to announce that we have chosen The Blue Cross - Britain's Pet Charity as our
nominated charity for 2004. Our funding will be directed at the "Pet Bereavement
Support Service" run by the Blue Cross and the Society for Companion Animal Studies,
the service is a national telephone helpline offering support to people who have
lost a pet through death, loss or enforced separation.
The Blue Cross was established in 1897 to provide support and care to the working
horses in London. Today, the charity provides veterinary, re-homing and rehabilitation
services to all types of pets through its 11 adoption centres and two equine
rehabilitation units. The Blue Cross runs four animal hospitals providing veterinary
care for the pets of people on low incomes. You might like to look at their websites
www.bluecross.org.uk and www.allaboutpets.org.uk.
We chose The Blue Cross because the charity has an excellent reputation, and
provides support for all companion animals - horses, dogs, cats and small furries
reflecting the range of products available through our catalogue.
We aim to raise £10,000 for our chosen section of the Blue Cross, and to help
us reach this figure we would be very grateful for your support. It is our intention
to meet all the administration costs and assure you that 100% of your donation,
which could be added to your order, will reach the charity. You will find a donation
box on the order form.
Please give your support to this excellent charity and help many less fortunate
pets and owners receive the care and find the loving homes they deserve.
